Hanoverian Premium Candidate Warmblood Mare

WSSF negative | PSSM1 negative

SOLD

HH SUNKIST is a Hanoverian mare who has been awarded the Premium Candidate status. She has a modern and elegant appearance with excellent conformation and a kind, confident, and caring temperament. Sunny has exceptional gaits, including a graceful and lengthy walk, a forward trot, and a comfortable canter.

Sunny has received extensive training and has mastered all Elementary movements. Due to commitments related to the Tokyo Paralympic Games and Covid, she has participated in only a few competitions at Official Novice level. Sunny has been to numerous clinic/lesson days and is focused in both indoor our outdoor arena situations. Sunny is bold and loves to explore on trails.

Sunny is excellent for the farrier, easy to float, clip and bath.

Sunny has demonstrated exceptional motherly qualities. Despite being a maiden mare, in January 2023, she took on the role of a nanny to our seven-week-old orphan, Sir Foxley Tora V. Sunny impressed the veterinarians by allowing Fox to suckle, even though she had no milk to give. She realised that feeding him was not the only way to help and showed her love and care in other ways. Videos of Sunny’s remarkable intelligence and love for her job went viral on social media.

SIRE - SHOWDOWN (Imp) is the sire of HH SUNKIST. He was imported from Germany and is a son of SANDRO HIT. Standing at 17.0 ½ hands, SHOWDOWN is a stunning black/brown Hanoverian stallion with three exceptional elastic paces. He was premium licensed at Verden in 2004 and was purchased by Gestate Famos for a significant 6-figure euro sum. In 2005, SHOWDOWN underwent his 30- and 70-day performance tests at Neustadt / Dosse, where he scored 9s for character, ride ability, temperament, motivation, and constitution, 8 for walk and trot, and 8.5 for canter. As a result, SHOWDOWN has been accepted for the Oldenburg Verband as well.'

Sandro Hit is the grandsire of HH Sunkist and leads the WBFSH ranking of the best dressage sires in the world. He has been among the top ten for ten years and has made a lasting impression on modern dressage horse breeding with his brilliantly-typed and incredibly light-footed offspring. He is considered the founding stallion of our stud and line founder. In fact, Sandro Hit produced a record number of five offspring who took part in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. At the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, three of his offspring competed in dressage, and somewhat surprisingly, another Sandro Hit, Santano II ridden by Christopher Burton, was the standout star of the cross country.

On the dam’s side, HH SUNKIST has WELTMEYER as her grandsire, who is widely regarded as one of the all-time great Hanoverian sires. According to the AHS, “WELTMEYER continues almost single-handedly to reshape the Hanoverian breed.” The hallmark of WELTMEYER’s offspring is their powerful build, impressive conformation, strong bones, and top-line. He is an exceptional progenitor of riding horses that possess excellent conformation and type, and he also enhances the trot, canter, and ride ability of his progeny.
